What Gathers A Vortex

mixed media installation, 2022

The artist’s room unfolds as an alchemical chamber—a living archive of stones, paintings, books, flowers, and personal remnants gathered across different places and times. Arranged through proximity, tension, and balance, these materials form a temporary ecosystem in which private memory opens onto a larger cosmos.

The vortex emerges through this gathering: a centre of attraction where matter, memory, and perception continually reorganise. Rather than resolving the room into a fixed narrative, the installation remains a living field—activated anew by the presence and perspective of each viewer.

Each object carries its own duration. Stones hold geological traces of pressure, water, wind, and time, while paintings and personal remnants preserve more intimate histories of movement and experience. Within the room, these distinct temporalities begin to act upon one another, transforming the familiar into an evolving constellation.
